The Distributed Power Control and Monitoring System (DPCMS) is a dual-redundant, digitally controlled power backbone originally developed for military applications in tactical vehicles. Designed for flexibility and scalability, the DPCMS provides reliable, distributed power across fixed, mobile, modular, and afloat systems.
The system’s modular architecture allows it to support various power generation sources — such as vehicle alternators, generators, or microgrids — by integrating additional modules to distribute power as needed. Depending on the criticality of the platform, the system can be configured with multiple controllers for enhanced redundancy, or a single controller can manage all necessary functions with secondary controllers incorporated for fault tolerance.
The DPCMS has been rigorously tested; it successfully completed a 5,000-mile road test at the Munson Test Area at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD, confirming its robustness and reliability in real-world conditions.
